Transit Driver / Wash Bay Attendant
Location: Port Alberni, BC
PWTransit is currently seeking a Transit Driver / Wash Bay Attendant to join our team in Port Alberni. This position will start off working full-time hours covering a medical leave (undetermined timeframe) and eventually transition into a casual position. Drivers are responsible for safely transporting passengers on a daily basis and must be committed to providing superior customer service. Commitment, patience, maturity, and initiative are all required qualities.
Position Requirements
- A valid Class 1 or 2 driver's license with Air Brake endorsement
- Driver's abstract with no more than 3 demerit points
- Previous vehicle detailing experience considered an asset
- Willingness to undergo drug and alcohol screening
- Clear criminal record
- Must be organized, punctual and reliable
- Possess excellent driving skills and habits
- Ability to read maps and navigate
- Ability to communicate effectively
- A good knowledge of the local area is a definite asset
- Willing to work shifts, including split shifts, weekends and statutory holidays as necessary
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely transport passengers on a number of assigned routes
- Manage passenger behaviour by quickly and effectively solving problems
- Drive safely and responsibly and be prepared for all road and traffic conditions
- Provide superior customer service and assist with passenger questions/inquiries
- Clean the interior/exterior of company vehicles
- Miscellaneous building cleaning duties
