Job Description
Right now, we're looking for outgoing, professional, driven individuals with culinary experience that want to further their career as a 3rd Cook (Demi Chef). You will be responsible for executing menu item production with an emphasis on quality and presentation by following the instructions of the culinary management team. This position requires flexibility for scheduling including evenings, holidays, and weekend shifts.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Preparing, baking, cooking and presenting menu items in a timely fashion; following standardized recipes;
- Preparing mis en place ("setting in place" of foods, garnishes, sauces, dishes, cutlery etc.);
- Assisting the CDP's with product receipts, breakdown, storage and rotation;
- Cleaning culinary equipment after use and/or relocating soiled equipment to the dish pit;
- Liaising and communicating effectively with all appropriate operational departments;
- Developing and cultivating strong working relationships with all stakeholders (guests, management and team members);
- Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations;
- Ordering and inventory management
- Performing other duties as assigned or directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Culinary experience & education an asset;
- Enrollment or completion of the ITA apprentice program is an asset;
- A willingness to learn, develop and achieve new skills for personal and professional development;
- Must posses professional attitude and be a team player;
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- Serving it Right Certification;
- Food Safe Level 1 & 2 Certification;
- The willingness to obtain a criminal record check.
