Department:
Richmond School District operates 38 elementary schools, 10 secondary schools, alternate programs, continuing education and several additional facilities. We enroll approximately 21,000 students (K-12) and employs over 3000 dedicated staff. The Learning and Business Technology team works to support all these sites, employees, and students, as well as the district technology equipment, software, and infrastructure.
Opportunity:
This role will provide you with an opportunity to build and enhance the solutions and software that empower the Richmond School District. You will join a dynamic team that manages a suite of enterprise software and a growing data warehouse. You will build and maintain custom applications that meet our users' requirements. You will also work directly with our end-users and other technology team members to identify and resolve complex technology issues.
Role:
? Understanding application enhancement and development requirements through active listening and asking great questions. Documenting and diagraming these requirements. Creating workboard tickets that reflect these requirements including priority and scope.
? Following a kanban style software development methodology to build React based MVC5/CORE web applications.
? Facilitating logic walk-throughs, peer code-reviews, and security audits of source code.
? Conducting cross-department QA/UA testing and training.
? Documenting and resolving issues while identifying new requirements for subsequent releases.
? Integrating, testing, and deploying custom software solutions in a multi-server hybrid cloud environment. Monitoring, and supporting these custom-built applications.
? Monitoring and managing various systems to proactively identify and resolve issues.
? Identifying risks to data security, application performance, and system stability. Recommending risk mitigation strategies.
? Provide technical support, troubleshooting and training services to staff and team members via telephone, video conferencing or in-person.
Requirements:
Education:
? A Computer Systems diploma, or equivalent, from an accredited institution.
3+Years of Experience Including:
? Performing Business Analysis, including eliciting requirements and performing functional/technical analysis, updating documentation, prototyping and testing.
? Presenting reports and findings to Senior Management.
? Creating Web Applications using .NET based frameworks such as MVC CORE or MVC5, ideally using a React-based framework such as React Hooks.
? Working with Web standards and languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery and RESTful API using MVC5 and MVC Core.
? Working with MS SQL
Additional Experience and Background:
? Entity Framework.
? UI frameworks such as Material UI or Bootstrap.
? Application development following the Agile (Scrum) Methodology.
? Involvement in the full SDLC.
? BI Reporting such as SSRS or PowerBI.
? Configuring deployment automation.
? Unit testing.
? Preference will be given to candidates that also have experience building, maintaining and supporting SQL databases.
