Senior Technical Specialist
On behalf of our client, Procom Consultants Group is currently searching for a Senior Technical Specialist.
We have an opportunity for a Senior Technical Specialist to join our Middleware Platform team and support the infrastructure for our critical enterprise-wide business applications. In this role you will work with a broad portfolio of technologies currently being used to support our lines of business.
As a service lead for web application hosting, you will focus your operational and systems delivery experience in web application server administration.
Senior Technical Specialist Job Description:
• Provide technical leadership across key IS support groups to effectively engage the Middleware department;
• Establish best practices and standards across our applications environments including deployment standards, patching, security and automation methods;
• Lead technical planning and solutions design to effectively provide enhanced service to the corporation;
• Team leadership, mentoring and coaching;
• Resolve Level 3 complex troubleshooting on web applications platforms across critical business systems;
• Meeting facilitation, leading IS groups and presenting information to key senior level stakeholders including but not limited management and external stakeholders (vendors);
Senior Technical Specialist Mandatory SkillsTo make an immediate contribution in this critical role, you should have broad business, technical, and team leadership experience including:
• Senior level experience in the IT infrastructure architecture, technical design, strategic planning, and capacity planning of web application hosting and/or integration platforms
• Senior level experience supporting enterprise-wide Web Application environments within medium to large size organizations (1000+ servers);
• Proven abilities to manage small to large projects and understands project management methodologies
• Provide senior level consultation to clients and division staff in resolving complex middleware technology problems
• Senior level experience and leadership in technical projects and initiatives as well as providing estimates for hardware sizing, work efforts, timelines, and costs.
• Proven senior level skills at interpersonal communication; coaching, mentoring, instructing and professionalism.
• Ability to multi-task effectively, to handle multiple competing priorities with tight deadlines.
• Senior level analytical skills in identifying and resolving for complex problems in production, development and test environments.
• Strong written communications skills in providing technical design and solutions, technical business cases, and presentations to various levels of audience.
• Strong tactical IT vendor management experience and skills relating to technical support of the applications platform.
Your technical designation combined with demonstrated ability to build collaborative working relationships and influence and negotiate productive outcomes has prepared you to make a strong contribution in this role. Some important technologies in the
department are:
• Web application servers (IBM WAS, Apache Tomcat)
• Linux (Red Hat);
• Key infrastructure supporting web application environments (e.g. reverse-proxy, PKI, network load balancers, directory
services, firewall, WAF, etc.);
• Automation, development and deployment tools and JAVA and low-code development
