The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the overall success of the Banquet Department by executing strategies for service goals and by employing leadership and management skills effectively. Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Reviewing all written communications (BEO's room/station assignments, room set ups, etc), including making and communicating all adjustments accordingly within the Banquet Department
- Checking all room setups prior to each event
- Coordinating with the Executive Chef or Sous Chef to confirm quantities of food items and timing of food leaving the kitchen
- Checking all staffing needs for upcoming events
- Maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring that all convention specifications are met
- Conducting pre-function briefings to ensure grooming standards of team members are met and informing team members of specific needs for buffet and receptions
- Allocating stations, team partners for team members, and reviewing banquet event orders
- Providing daily support and guidance to fellow banquet team members as well as monitoring job performance
- Maintaining a high level of service
- Assisting with inventory management
- Reporting all maintenance and repair concerns to the appropriate department immediately
- Liaising and communicating effectively with all appropriate operational departments
- Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
- Performing other duties as assigned or directed
Successful candidates will demonstrate the following qualifications:
- Legendary guest service skills with a "Make it Happen" attitude
- Understanding of yourself as well as others when communicating with team members and guests
- A passion for providing Rockin' It Service to our internal guests in the quest of achieving service excellence
- Live HRCV's Values all day, every day: Respect, Original, Caring, Kickin' Service, Integrity and No Excuses
- 1 year experience in a Food and Beverage environment
- Banquet experience an asset
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal departments through timely, effective and service oriented communication
- A willingness to learn, develop and achieve new skills for personal and professional development
- The ability to stand for long periods of time
- Excellent multi tasking skills
- Being collaborative and never losing sight of being a part of a team
- High School Diploma
- Serving It Right, Smart Serve or IGB certification, or the ability to obtain a Serving it Right Certification
- The ability to successfully obtain a criminal record check through the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch (GPEB)
