Our Nurses provide direct health care and counselling services to patients presenting with a wide variety of complex addictions and mental health issues. You will perform physical, addiction, and mental status assessments; refer patients to the physician for further examination and administer prescribed treatments and medications.


Homewood Ravensview is a private 75-bed mental health, trauma and addiction facility offering evidence-based, medically-led, inpatient, services for first responders, military, veterans, executives & professionals, adults, and young adults. Drawing on over 135 years of experience in mental health and addictions and located in North Saanich on 28 acres of forested hillside, Homewood Ravensview offers clients a comfortable and safe environment featuring serene ocean views from spacious rooms and welcoming common areas and a world-class team of physicians, psychiatrists, counsellors and 24-hour nursing professionals.



What you'll be doing



* Provide direct health care services to clients presenting with a wide variety of mental health and concurrent disorders using a client-centered, trauma-informed approach
* Observe, monitor, evaluate, and document patient progress, symptoms, and behavioral changes
* Collaborate with clients, families, and the community to provide client care
* Conduct a wide variety of physical and mental health assessments as well as a wide variety of health care interventions
* Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to assess, plan, and implement, and evaluate client care
* Provide counselling, education, and support to individual patients, as well as in group therapy, using a motivational and health promotion approach
* Respond to emergencies or crisis situations according to the needs of the client
* Mentor and act as a preceptor for students as required



What we're looking for



* Graduation from a recognized nursing program
* Current registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP) and CPR certification
* Recent related experience providing treatment services to individuals with mental health and/or concurrent disorders preferred
* Demonstrated ability to deal with a variety of situations and responsibilities requiring initiative, creativity, and professional judgment
* Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team
