Your Opportunity
Under the direct supervision of the Manager, Culinary and Pastry Arts, the Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitization standards for glassware, tableware and cooking utensils using machine and manual cleaning methods. The Dishwasher also ensures the dishwashing area itself is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner, and carries out kitchen cleanup duties.
Functions and Duties
1. Sorts, rinses, and washes dirty dishes, glassware, tableware, pots, pans, trays, and other cooking utensils as required.
2. Performs general cafeteria duties such as:
- Rotating in bussing dishes; loading, operating, and unloading the dishwasher
- Cleaning the pot washing and dishwashing area
3. Carries out kitchen cleanup duties such as:
- Disposal of garbage
- Washing walls and other kitchen equipment and furnishings
- Wiping up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain safe
4. Performs other related duties as required.
Education and Experience
Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent and Food Safe Certificate. Up to and including 6 months related experience. Experience working in a commercial kitchen.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships with staff, students and public
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to lift/move objects up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift/move objects up to 25 and including 50 pounds

Schedule
On-call as work is available. Not to exceed 35 hours per week. Schedule may vary.
Annual Salary/Hourly Rate
$19.89 - $22.70
