Transit Driver
Location: Port Hardy and Port McNeill, BC
PWTransit is expanding our operations in British Columbia and are currently seeking both part-time and casual Transit Drivers (small bus) to join our team in the Regional District of Mount Waddington. Drivers are responsible for safely transporting passengers on a daily basis and must be committed to providing superior customer service. Commitment, patience, maturity, and initiative are all required qualities.
Position Requirements:
- A valid Class 2 or 4 driver's license
- Driver's abstract with no more than 3 demerit points
- Willingness to undergo drug and alcohol screening
- Clear criminal record
- Must be organized, punctual and reliable
- Possess excellent driving skills and habits
- Ability to read maps and navigate
- Ability to communicate effectively
- A good knowledge of the local area is a definite asset
- Willing to work shifts, including split shifts, weekends and statutory holidays as necessary
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safely transport passengers on a number of assigned routes
- Manage passenger behaviour by quickly and effectively solving problems
- Drive safely and responsibly and be prepared for all road and traffic conditions
- Provide superior customer service and assist with passenger questions/inquiries
