Android Engineer
On behalf of our Client, PROCOM is searching for a Android Engineer to join our clients' growing team.
This candidate must have a strong passion for the health and wellness industry. Our client team in Vancouver is working on creating innovative digital solutions for their users. This client likes to hire creative people and give them autonomy to do their meaningful work.
Their software engineers are comfortable dealing with high-level specifications, working in small teams, and are involved in the product process from start to finish.
They need engineers who are excited to try new approaches and collectively learn the right approach to delivering the best client experiences.
Job Details - Android Engineer:
- This Android Developer will design, develop, and implement applications for our state of the art technologies.
- lead new projects, R&D endeavors, and proofs of concepts
- Design & develop advanced stand-alone applications and libraries as well as apps that connect to/use existing products;
- Discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies ;
- Create, evaluate, maintain, and optimize internal coding standards & best practices
- Continuously evaluate and improve internal processes
- Mentor new team members, co-op students, interns, and peers alike
Mandatory Skills- Android Engineer:
- 7+ yrs. experience developing mobile applications for Android platforms;
- Strong knowledge of Java, Kotlin, and the Android platform;
- Excellent conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving abilities;
- Solid architecture and design modeling;
- Strong understanding of object-oriented concepts;
- Expertise in mobile application development tools and techniques;
- Ability to work in a very talented team locally and across the border as well as individually where needed;
- Experience with Socket and/or Bluetooth programming is a plus;
- Experience with OpenGL is a plus;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- degree in Computer Science or Engineering.

Location: Vancouver.
Remote to hybrid at the moment. However, must be open to transitioning into working from downtown Vancouver office.
